Dr. Sean Bretschneider and Dr. Keri Swanson (married couple). We both received bachelor degrees from Oregon State University and graduated from OSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996 and 1999 respectively. We met in Veterinary School over a romantic brightly lit cat spay. Things progressed from there. Over the course of a couple of internships and various jobs we were drawn to the Springfield/ Eugene area. We were fortunate enough to find good jobs at West Eugene Animal Hospital and Westmoreland Animal Hospital. Before long we started raising a family. We now have 4 wonderful children, along with 1 dog, 3 cats, and 2 Guinea Pigs. In 2004 we were fortunate enough to meet Dr. Mullarkey and his wife Elizabeth. Through a series of legal documents and handshakes we became the owners of Q Street Animal Hospital. Our experience over the years has given us a tremendous background both with medical and surgical skills as well as business management styles. It has been very exciting to compile all of our knowledge and experience to develop protocols and practices that we feel best help our patients and their families.

Jessica Hoerauf DVM

  • Graduate Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine 2005
  • Bachelor of Science Oregon State University 2001

Jessica grew up in the Lebanon/ Sweet Home area. She has enjoyed family cats, dogs, horses, chickens, etc from a very young age. She worked at a veterinary clinic in Lebanon while in High School, continued to work there on and off through college and veterinary school, after school she worked there for four years as an associate veterinarian. Keri and I met Jessica and were impressed with her veterinary background, commitment to high standards, and pleasant personality. We are pleased to be working with Jessica. Besides working as a veterinarian, she is married and has many pets of her own, including a couple of horses.

Beth

Beth is our practice manager. We are fortunate to have someone like her, she has a great background. She owned a couple of businesses and worked as a practice manager in a large veterinary clinic in Colorado before moving to Oregon. She enjoys outdoor activities, volunteering, and the performing arts. Some of her accomplishments included; starting a charter school in Southwest Colorado, developing a cycling program for children with the local Sheriff Dept. and DARE program, founding a mountain bike point series in the Four Corners area. As well as, training a team of athletes to compete in a world class Eco-Challenge.

Laura CVT

Demi has worked for many years as an animal nurse and certified technician. Demi has a horse, dog and a cat. She enjoys having coffee with her friends on her days off and spending time with family. Demi has a very gentle and compassionate way with our clients and patients. We are very glad to have her as a part of our team.

Kristina

Kristina is our lead customer service specialist. She assists in the back at times as well. She has done a great job and we are very pleased to have her. Kristina's background was in customer service for Starbucks and is originally from Wisconsin. She has 6 cats of her own and wants to have a Yorkshire Terrier (but can't have dog's where she lives).

McKenzie, CVT

MacKenzie has numerous years of experience under her belt as a certified veterinary technician. Prior to that, she worked in the human health care field then decided to attend the College of Southern Idaho to receive her certification in Veterinary Technology. She has numerous cats, a couple dogs, husband, rabbits, and maybe more hidden under the mattress. Her thoroughness, compassion, and good cheer have been a delight.

Autumn works in both customer service and as a technician in the exam, treatment, surgery, and pharmacy areas. She is the mother of twin sons, both of which are cute as can be and quite active. When she isn't busy being an integral part of our animal care team and being a loving mother of TWINS, she is studying for classes through Lane to further her education.

Melissa

Melissa works primarily at the front desk. She and Kristina have become our "Rock of Gibraltar", providing stability and excellent customer service to our patients and clients. Melissa is very knowledgeable and capable of fielding an unbelievable number of veterinary related questions, and multi-tasking other duties all the while. She is originally from Southern California where she also worked in the veterinary field. Melissa is enjoying the Springfield/ Eugene area and spending time with her extended family. She especially enjoys her 2 boxers.

We're benefiting from her experiences because she is amazingly calm when stressed, able to multi-task quickly, and occasionally makes yummy treats. Stacy is doing a great job and becoming more and more proficient every day. She also has a new dog, cute little Corgi named Sophie.
